March Wellness: The Mind

If you read the last post, then you know we are focusing on Wellness for the month of March! This week's focus is The Mind. As promised, I put together a mini wellness book that will be released section by section through the month for a specific reason. The reason being that I want you to focus on the designated topic of the week without skipping forward. So for this week, you will only have access to the mind section. Next week you will have access to the body, and the spirit the week after that!

Inside the workbook, you will find a wellness analysis wheel. There are instructions on how to complete the wheel and then you will go over the Thought Process sections to further analyze your results and make some goals. So who is ready for week one?

In the mean time, here are a few ideas you can try to help clear your mental woes!

Meditate

Try some breathing techniques to de-stress or try a visualization meditation. I personally love guided meditations from Gabrielle Bernstein. I also love her books on how to detox yourself from judgement, get rid of the ego, and how to be a supper attractor!

Find a list of Gabrielle's books on Amazon.com

Nature

The weather is finally getting better so that means it will be easier to decompress by walking through the park, around your neighborhood, or hiking. I love going to the Denver and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo because we get so wrapped up in seeing all the animals that we forget that we are getting in our daily steps and fresh air.

Volunteer

Anytime we stop thinking about all of our problems and focus on helping others, we tend to gain a sense of gratitude and a healthy dose of humanity. Go on Volunteermatch.com to find local opportunities or ask your school if they need any extra help.

Dance

My daughter and I have impromptu dance sessions (usually her idea). She is 5 so she doesn't judge and I love seeing her new "moves"! Afterwards, we are so worked up that we have to drink a bunch of water from the unknowing workout we just got. Plus we get endorphins from singing and moving so it's an all around win.

Go off-grid for a few hours

I know this is hard but turn off all social media and distractions. Social media has been proven to make viewers depressed from FOMO and "why isn't that me site-seeing around a beautiful island in a bikini on a boat?" syndrome. Pick up a good book to get lost in, make a gourmet meal, or treat yourself to a mani/pedi. I of course recommend reading Jessica Honegger's Imperfect Courage.

Make some art

You don't have to be a Frida, Picasso, or Van Gogh to be an artist. We buy bulk canvas and paints from the local craft stores (cost like $20 for supplies) and sit together and paint whatever we feel like painting! It's a great family activity and I love hanging them up after! Try mix media. Use clay, paper, sew or knit something. Put your creativity to use!

For the non-stoppers

Don't have time to slow down for 1 sec? Well there are supplements that help with mood enhancing and energy fatigue. Moon Juice has a few supplements that you can add to coffee or smoothies for a mood picker-upper. I recommend trying the Moon Dust sample packs and the Super You sample pack!

There are several things you can do to unwind stress coils of the mind. Choose a few to help yourself. Don't waste your extra time scrolling through social medias and drinking too much wine (ain't nobody got time for that hangover headache).

Set your goals from the workbook and write them in your journal so you can be prepared for next week's topic.

Until next week loves!

With love,

Micole Elise
