Crystal of the Month: February

It's only natural that I bless you with one of the most loved crystals for the month of love! When my daughter was 3, we took her to a crystal store and she naturally gravitated to a beautiful soft pink stone. It was as big as her hand and she placed it right at the throat chakra. My husband and I thought this was interesting because at the time she was having trouble with communicating. She was learning words but didn't want to talk. So we got her this stone and she continued to place it in the same spot every time. Like she needed to give her voice some love! 3 years later, I thankfully can't get the girl to be quiet but she still loves her stone. She no longer holds it to her throat but I noticed it still makes her happy to hold it! The magic stone that got her through that time is a Rose Quartz! I can't lie, this post is giving me all the vibes I love! All the good and beautiful things!

Rose Quartz is very common and can be found in most crystal stores. You may even be able to find it in a craft store or specialty stores. It can be found tumbled or in raw form. Commonly seen in heart shapes, beauty products, wands, and jewelry.

Appearance: Beautiful soft pink with hints of marbled white. Usually smooth and shiny unless in raw form in which it will still posses sheen but with texture.

According to one, Cupid, the Roman god of desire and affection, was said to have bestowed Rose Quartz crystal stone upon the Earth as a gift of love, passion, and happiness for all. Another Greek legend tells a more tragic tale. According to this myth, Ares, the Greek god of war, came in the form of a boar to kill Aphrodite’s lover, Adonis. In trying to save Adonis, Aphrodite cut herself on a briar bush. As their blood spilled, it came together over a Quartz crystal, staining the stone pink.

Care Start by washing the stone in warm water with a soft cloth. The stone can be submerged in water but I personally don't submerge for more than 24 hours. Some add blessed salt but salt can sometimes dull stones. I don't recommend ultrasonic and steam cleaners. You can clear the energy by smudging, leaving in sun or moon light, and submerging in a bowl of sea salt with herbs. Make sure you program by setting your intentions!

Ultimately, I love Rose Quartz for the self-love and acceptance vibes it provides.
