"I Got It From My Momma"

At first, I was going to do a post about what you should get your mom for Mother's Day and then I was gonna do one about making a card for your mom but then I realized what a waste of time that would be. There's a pandemic going on and you can't go out to do brunch, go shopping, or have spa days together. Not to mention, each mom is so entirely different that I couldn't possibly suggest the perfect gift or thank you to YOUR mom. So instead, I thought I would just take this time to say THANKS to my mommy!

My mom is going to kill me for broadcasting these photos but....o well lol
Growing up, I was always so close to my mom. We did everything together so I was for sure a "momma's girl". Every Friday we went to the movies and out to eat. If we didn't do that, then we still got good food and made crafts! Once my brother came along (hey lil bro!), we roped him into the same weekly events and added going to look at model homes and family vacations that my mom magically put together so we could see every park and get souvenirs. We are truly a tribe and since then, we've added our mascot Aoki (our Australian Shepard) and my family. She did this all on her own, so to say that my mom is a hero, is an understatement. She's a F'ing Warrior Queen!

She holds us down in times of need and holds us up with spirit. She is creative, beautiful, smart, funny, and uses her empathic abilities to help those around her. I may sound bias but if you know her then you know I am right. As I raise my now 5 year old daughter, I am saddened that we live in 2 separate states because there is so much I want her to learn from my mom. The best way I can do that is to visit as often as we can and to incorporate the traditions that my mom gave us. As she has incorporated some that her mom gave her. I come from a strong line of women and I want that instilled in my daughter. And to be honest, my husband's side also has strong women so she will be well equipped!

It is easy to see the physical features I get from my mom (definitely not her long beautiful hair lol) but when my dad and husband tell me I sound or act like my mom, I am so proud and take it as a compliment! I really do get it from my momma and don't you dare try to tell me otherwise! I hope I can be just as much as an example for Bailey! So as we embark on another Mother's Day, think about what great qualities yo get from your mom and share those qualities with us!

To strong moms everywhere, we love you! Happy Mother's Day!

With so much love,
Micole Elise
