Father Hood

Every year I struggle with trying to find the perfect gift or card for Father's Day and usually I end up making them because there usually isn't a card that can capture my relationship with mine. We don't have one of those super gushy father- daughter relationships like most cards suggest but we have that works for us and is filled with comical criticism, sarcasm, learning who one another really is, and love. We bond the most over food and his affinity for cars and old sayings from my grandfather! We work well together on projects and playing scrabble. One thing that is typical is my, "Dad, can I have...?, Dad, can I borrow...?, Dad, why didn't you cook...for me?" Always asking for things and it goes both ways with his calling me to figure tech problems and paper work. I guess we balance each other out! All this to say, Happy Father's Day Dad and could you please make me some salmon croquettes?

I also want to wish a Happy Father's Day to my hubby! When we first met, he was already a father and trying to figure out what type of dad he wanted to be to his son. Well now that he is a teenager, they have come a long way! Then we added our Bailey Bee to the equation and got the best of both worlds; A teen and a toddler. My husband has grown very patient with the kids and makes sure he finds ways to interact with them through both of their interest. CJ (our teen) is on the wrestling team like his dad was in high school so they like to spar in the backyard and they work together and talk about finances and investments together! Sometimes they go on diets together and will do workouts. With Bailey, he helps with school work, they play Mario together, have water fights, and go on walking adventures on the trail! I can proudly say that we are finally becoming a good parenting team and the kids have learned what to bring to me and what to bring to him. He is the enforcer and I'm the nurturer. As long as we are on the same page then the kids get nothing by us lol! Happy Father's Day to the most generous man I know.
