Crystal of the Month: April

Marilyn and Audrey may have been on to something when they came up with "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" and Breakfast at Tiffany's! Because my birthday is in April and the birthstone for April is a diamond, it is naturally one of my favorites but since diamonds can be costly and I enjoy the more natural stones, I choose a more fitting stone to kick off our first "Crystal of the Month" post. Because our Spring theme is "translucent", I figured that a Clear crystal quartz was very appropriate. I covered the basics of crystals last week so this is a great beginners crystal!

Clear quartz is very popular and accessible. It is relatively cheaper than most crystals but it very effective. You can usually find them in a multitude of different sizes and can be consistent with points or cluster shapes. They are very durable and often used for frequency and electronic devices. According to the crystal gurus of Energy Muse,

"The hexagonal structured system of the crystal is, at a cellular level, made up of silicon dioxide. Just as the human body is comprised of silicon dioxide, the earth’s crust consists of 12% silicon dioxide. So for all the non-believers, it is scientifically proven that the cellular composition in crystals is comparable to the cellular composition in humans and therefore the energy of one can affect the other! Everything is made up of energy so it's no wonder why one can alter the other.

Care

Crystal quartz are pretty durable so they can go into sun light, moonlight, cool water, and salt water. I try to keep my crystals separate from others to not scratch or damage my other crystals. Quartz are pretty easy but still handle them with respect, love, and care!
