I can not begin to describe why I am so passionate about the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep organization. January 2018, we lost our daughter Rowyn to stillbirth and it was the most difficult thing that we have ever experienced in our lives. NILMDTS was one of the only things that helped me to cope with losing my child. They offer families in grievance photos of their baby and a box that contains some of the most precious keepsakes you could ever receive to remember your baby. This box gave me peace when I had days of despair. It included sentimental things like my baby's hand and foot prints, a loc of her hair, a bonnet, a dress, a teddy bear, a journal, and information on places to call for support. They even took pictures of her for us to have. It was a blessing in such a terrible time.

Almost 2 years later, the organization still allows me to find ways to celebrate Rowyn with doing remembrance walks (with butterfly realeases) and putting together remembrance boxes like the one I received. Doing so, helped me realize that I am not alone in my loss. There were so many families that went through the same thing I did and needed and organization like NILMDTS to help them cope and celebrate the memory of their babies. Choosing to participate in an event like the walk really delivers a sense of empathy, community, and compassion with peers. I am forever grateful to the hands that created our Remembrance Box and hope that the ones I create will help others.

Impact with heart is everything and something this world needs more of. If you need support or want to offer some support, there are plenty of ways you can help. You can attend these events, donate to these organizations (the organization receives 100s of hand knitted blankets and hats donated from everywhere for the boxes), or find ways to support families mourning in other compassionate ways. No matter what the cause or support organization, lend a helping hand. My grandfather always told me "be nice to everyone you meet. You never know what they are going through". Being empathetic is the most human thing one can do. I participate for my angel Rowyn, for the other baby angels we have lost in our family, and to other families who have suffered from child loss. If you want to donate or help families, please ask which organization they are affiliated with or ask for their blessing to donate to NILMDTS in honor of their child. This post is dedicated in loving memory to all my little angels.
