5 Decadent Desserts for Chocoholics

Hi, I'm Enjaneek (aka Micole)...and I'm a chocoholic. My first memories of chocolate began around the holidays. Chocolate bars on Halloween and fudge so rich it made me breakout in hives but I continued to eat it anyway because it was so good (thank you Mrs. Hook)! Then my grandma Flowers started to order fudge and chocolate cakes from Sees Candies every Christmas. Soon after that my mom introduced me to Lindt and Godiva chocolate. By the time I went to college, I was eating a candy bar a day and to make my addiction worse, I married a chocaholic who loves to have fresh baked cookies almost every night. So as you can see, I am helpless and show no signs (nor desire) of quitting.

Now that that cats out the bag, I can continue on with my purpose of trying to turn everyone else into chocolate maniacs! I found 5 chocolate based desserts that are sure to cure any sweet tooth and if that fails then at least you will have a few recipe options for Thanksgiving!

Basic Chocolate Truffles

With only 3 ingredients, this truffle is perfect for a quick fix and will look beautiful on a tiered tray!

Rose, Strawberry, and Pistachio White Chocolate Bark with Sea Salt

You can't have a post about chocolate and not have any white chocolate! The pistachio and roses add color sensory while the salt and chocolate with strawberries appeal to the tastebuds! It's a win win.

Milky Way Cake

Rumor has it, that my grandma Mamie use to make this cake. Even though I have never had one, I have always wanted her recipe to make it. Because no one knows where hers is, I have been looking for a substitute so I found the one below for now. Mine may not come out this pretty but as long as it taste good, I won't care.

Chocolate Salted Caramel Tart

This is one that definitely needs sharing! I would take this to a Thanksgiving dinner but fair warning: It takes 1 hour & 30 minutes to make and up to 9 hours to cool completely so it is something you want to make the night before!

Cookies & Cream Pop-tarts

My family is huge on Oreos and in the past I've made fruit filled pop-tarts that my son enjoyed so I figured that I would give these a try to meet everyone in the middle!

If you want a ton more of really good looking desserts, try the Donna Hay website! I couldn't stop ooohhhing and aaahhhing over all of her recipes. I know for Thanksgiving, cranberry and pies are always first picks but I wanted to throw something less ordinary out there. Although I am excited for someone to make peach cobbler, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, and 7up cake. And yes, my family makes all of these for one holiday! So you see where my problem comes from?

Have a savory day young chocolatiers!

With Love,

Micole Elise
