Holiday Guest Prep

So Thanksgiving is coming and maybe you have family coming to stay at your place or maybe you are hosting Thanksgiving this year and need to get your house ready. I did research online about how to prep your guest space for family to stay at your house but then it hit me. How many of us are overly excited about family staying and driving us crazy on the holidays (think of cousin Eddie on Christmas Vacation)? Yes it is building memories and some families are fun but the majority of families dread hosting holidays at their house. If you are not into the hosting part but still want to prepare your home with decorations at least, then why not fix it up with Chip and Joanna Gaines new collection at Target. The Fixer Upper duo just released a home collection called Hearth & Hand in Target stores that is sure to bring some HOME into your home (yes I did just vaguely reference their theme song by Johnny Swim).
Here are few ways to incorporate the Hearth & Hand Collection into your home for the holidays!
Front Door
Welcome guest with a beautiful front door arrangement. It's easy to put a wreath on the door and a welcome mat but if you want to make it fun, add the Santa Mailbox for the kids and let them put their letters to Santa in there!

Entry way
The entry way is a good way to continue the design flow. Pictured below, they used an industrial looking table where you can use the bottom for storage and the top for things like mail, keys, or more decorative items. The back drop for the table can be art or an arrangement of mirrors to help make the space look more open. Adding a lamp might help give the appearance of a warmer environment.

Fireplace
Nothing says holidays and cold weather like a fire place. Give your fireplace some ambiance by adding a garland and decorative items across the mantle. Hang the stockings and incorporate lights. You can also put down floor mats and let the kids play or drink hot chocolate.

Living Room
This is where my family dwells so we like to be comfy. We watch movies, play games, and snack. I usually like having candles but since I have a 3 year old I use jars with lights for safety reasons! The storage bins below are perfect for holding blankets and pillows and I love the plaid poof because it gives the kids something to sit on when we use the coffee table for games! Our dog always tries to sneak on our pillows so it's nice that the collection offers pet pillows so they have their own space.

Dining Table
I love how they gave so many options in this collection for table settings. By staying in the color scheme (Black, Cream, Green, and metals), it makes it easier to mix and match pieces and really make the look your own. My favorite pieces from the table ware are probably the green goblet glasses and the matte black flatware. If you really want to be fancy, take advantage of the place card holders and the gold and glass centerpiece with candles!

Everything above can be found at the Target website right Here or at you're local Target Store!
