The Fortune Teller's Halloween Party

We've been so busy this month with school events, getting sick, and planning Bailey's birthday that I haven't had time to wrap my mind around Halloween decor this season. And while I won't be partaking in Halloween decor this year, I wanted to do a post on what I would have wanted to do if I had time!

An Old Fashioned Fortune Teller Machine!

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved the idea of fortune tellers, magic, and astrology. Every time I saw one of the fortune teller machines that give you the printed fortune, I had to have one. As a kid, I made countless origami fortune tellers (aka cootie catchers). I still ask for fortune cookies just to read the messages inside. Needless to say, I have always loved the gypsy aesthetic (Maxi skirts and a million rings? yes please) and old wooden wagons. I couldn't help to notice this year that there was a lot more decorations for this theme than normal and I decided to indulge my "what if"! Just because I don't have time, doesn't mean that you don't!

Invitations

Of course I still love the idea of actual invitations so I found two cute ideas below. If you are running out of time...a text or E-vite works too!

Decorations

This year, Michael's had all the cool wall decor for this theme! A few of these wall hangs with a crystal ball, and string lights and you're well on your way! You can also do a lot of DIY projects like moon phases, hang tarot cards from the ceiling, and make your own crystal ball (via Pinterest). Of course Amazon sells crystal balls too but you may pay more than you care to and be sure to check the sizes.

Tableware

Complete the decor with tableware from Party City's Spooks and Spells collection. They offer table covers, plates, napkins, and an Ouji platter!

Snacks

No halloween party is complete without snacks or candy! Find fun things to add like rock candy, chocolate dipped fortune cookies, and cocktails!

Making it yours

The party is what you make it! It can be as interactive or as chill as you want it to be. Tell fortunes, pass out tarot cards to guest, or just throw the party in your prettiest take on a fortune teller costume! The point is to have fun and if you made it through this post to read this (lol) then I will post a few halloween inspired cocktails next week just for you!

Happy Fortune Telling my loves!

With Love,

Micole Elise
