1. Hydrate
Drinking 8 glasses of water is key. Set yourself up with a water bottle that inspires you to drink water and if that's still not enough, add fruit and veggies for a little extra flavor! I use water bottles where I can easily remember that I might need to drink four full bottles a day and try to plan it out to have 1 before breakfast, 1 after breakfast, 1 after lunch, and 1 for the rest of the day!

2. Shower time and exfoliate
As good as a steaming hot shower sounds, it is only recommended to take a warm shower. Even though hot water soothes your mental state and promotes blood circulation, hot water is known to dry out you're skin more. If you are going to take a hot shower, make sure your shower time is limited.
Depending on your skin type, you may need a exfoliant that is oil based. While in the shower, use exfoliant and rinse off. When out the shower, pat dry with a microfiber towel so you can retain some of the oils from the exfoliant.

3. Protect and Moisturize
I can't stress the importance of finding a good moisturizer. There are million products out there and they all vary depending on skin type. During the colder seasons, people tend to use body butters and warmer seasons they use oils. It's totally up to the wearer. Try finding a moisturizer with SPF in it because even though it looks cloudy out, the sun rays can still penetrate through the clouds and cause skin damage. Once you figure out what products work best for you, stick to a daily or nightly routine. Consistency is key!

4. Work out
If you are like me, you absolutely hate working out but realize that it can be vital to your health. Find something that helps you get excited about working out. For me it's work out gear and if I have a good work out then I like the feel of the burn the next day. It makes me feel like I accomplished something and I would rather hurt from working out my body than just aging. Working out promotes oxygen and endorphins and the sweat helps your body detox and gives you that glow!

5. Dieting/Detox
Enforcing a healthy diet is a must. Your body needs well balanced meals and snacks in order to perform correctly and get nutrients. Make sure you are eating plenty of vegetables, fruits, healthy fats, and protein! Eat 3 meals a day (with correct portions) and pre-pack snacks to keep from eating unhealthy. Try eating yogurts, nuts, avocado, and citrus fruits (vitamin C can help the skin look more radiant). Detox can also be a great resource but only when done correctly. Depending on the detox, you probably only want to do one every 6 months. Doing detoxes too often and doing too many different ones can confuse your body and get rid of the nutrients your body worked hard to get. Do them sparingly and make sure you find the right one for what you need!

These tips can also translate into Winter skin care and you might find that you want to up the ante in a few areas but find your skin care routine early on and stick to it!
